New England Vintage Film Society

Dear Brenda,

It was such fun seeing your impressive collection of Hollywood memoribilia today. I have checked our schedule for the glass display cases and find that February 2009 is already booked for Chinese New Year.

That said in January 2009 the cases are available so I have gone ahead and booked all five cases for the New England Vintage Film Society display. There are 3 cases on the the first floor in the Main Hall and two on the second floor near the Young Adult area.

The case dimensions are:
58″ long x 28″ wide x 9″ deep and the cases stand 39 1/2 inches high from the floor to the top.

Please come in before this Thursday to see Sam Glass’ displays. The write up he did explaining how he began collecting newspaper headlines and vintage purses are along the idea of what I would like you to prepare for your display.

As discussed, I would like you to label (typed and cut to appropriate size) your items with details of what they are and include pertinent info as you see fit (keep it brief as space is  limited). I would also like one of the cases to have a brief write up on you and the NEVFS.

Here are the ideas we came up for the five cases; all displays should be presented in a professional manner:

One case will highlight your new book on Spencer Tracy and the NEFVS (I think this case should be the one that has the writeup about you in it).

One case will highlight Spencer Tracy and Academy Awards.

One case will highlight Spencer Tracy and his leading ladies.

One case will highlight Spencer Tracy and men he appeared with/knew.

One case will highlight some of the unusual memorabilia you have like the postage stamps and the glass slides.

Please come between 9 and 10 am on Friday, January 2, 2009 to install your display and return to remove the display on Friday, January 30, 2009 before 4 pm. My office will prepare a comment book as patrons like to write their reactions to the displays.

We will provide you with a copy of the comment book sheets when the display comes down.

If you have any questions please call. Otherwise, I am sure we will be in touch with each other in the near future.

Best,
Ellen Meyers
